Her sire, Nutbush, was imported directly from Ellerston, Australia, at the age of two. His sire, Hermitage, was selected by Ellerston as a successor to the renowned Norman Pentaquad and Monty, two stallions that played a major role in establishing the reputation of the Ellerston breeding programme. Nutbush is out of Tango, an important Ellerstina broodmare and dam of Music, who played the Argentine Triple Crown with Facundo Pieres in 2005 and 2006 before competing in the UK in 2007 and 2008. 

Her dam, Open X8, combines two proven Ellerstina bloodlines. Her dam, Open Xelene (Pucará × La Luna), was one of Gonzalo Pieres Jr.’s outstanding Open mares, playing two chukkers from 2002 to 2006 and earning Best Playing Polo Argentino honours in the 2003 Jockey Club Open Final.
